Rock Sound, in a review, claimed Shouting At Strangers "deliver thick-textured riff-heavy melodic rock songs with the kind of abrasive nuttiness that should tickle the titties off fans of Reuban, Engerica, Jetplane Landing, or just any muvver who wants their face well and truly rocked!" And it's a pretty fair statement - while not wholly new and refreshing, SAS certainly have a kick to their sound that makes them stand out from the pack. It's not always easy to review three-trackers because you can't always get a fair idea of what the band are like, but listening to this has left me interested in hearing more, which can only be a good thing.

The Reuben influence is extremely distinctive, especially on the closing 'All Is Lost', but that's not to say the band venture into rip off territory. Everything on offer here is strong, from the vocals to the riffs. The one thing I don't like is the screaming and shouting prevalent during a couple of songs - I feel the band would be far better suited to keeping to singing and veering away from the tired and predictable noises eminating from pretty much every other UK act around at the minute. That said, there's plenty of potential here and I await their next release with interest.
