John KastnerThis is a true indie-rock summer classic. Having penned songs with Evan Dando in the past, this is a very Lemonheads-esque record which has a number of power-pop tracks which beg to be sung along to. The former frontman of All Systems Go and The Doughboys, John Kastner has lso co-founded Cobraside distribution, scored film soundtracks (including Phil the Alien, the indie hit of last year’s Toronto International Film Festival) and written songs with Marc Lanegan.
'Have You Seen Lucky', is, in John's own words, a 20-year summary of his own musical life. 'Kick Back' is the perfect anthem to kick things off, while the guitar solo in 'Trainwreck Magnetism' is a throwback to the rock and roll of the 70s Kastner clearly adores. Fans of All Systems Go and The Doughboys will seek this out anyway, but if you're a Lemonheads fan, or prefer the Foo Fighters when they're not rocking out quite so much, this would be a great addition to your record collection.
