EP, Disarm
Okay, so I’m going to go with one of the weirdest comparisons I’ve ever gone with. Work with me here, people. This band sounds like a cross between Therapy? and Hole. Seriously. I don’t know if anyone else in the world will pick up on this, but I can definitely hear it.

Ludicrous comparisons aside, this EP comes in from Sheffield’s Disarm – cocksure, straightforward and unpretentious rocklepunk (there’s one more Ian-o-genre). There’s an attitude prevalent throughout and these young ‘uns know what they want to say without beating any proverbial bushes. Shame their songs don’t hit anything resembling interesting. The only track that manages to hold up on repeat listening is the shortest offering from this CD – ‘Getaway’. And even that is merely average at best.

It’s a shame really, as these boys have an overbearing attitude that I personally like. Admire, maybe. But musically this isn’t anything special – it isn’t going to induce vomiting from sheer badtitude, but it certainly won’t take the listener on a thrill ride of musical technicality or through a journey of self-discovery. Plus it’s dull.
