I guarantee you'll all be hearing a lot more about Set Your Goals this year. Having signed to Eulogy Recordings, they're already generating a lot of hype in the US and with a UK tour and a split with The Steal to come, they certainly have the chance to become very well known indeed. SYG are essentially a hardcore band in a pop-punk band's body - there's a heady mix of the heavy with the melodic, kind of like what New Found Glory might sound like if Chad Gilbert took them down the Shai Hulud route.

This six tracker barely breaks the 10-minute mark, so it does leave you wanting a little bit more. And with an instrumental opening and a Jawbreaker cover, there's actually only four SYG songs here. Originally this was meant to be a demo, but because it's actually pretty good it ended up being released and then re-released by Eulogy. After 'Reset' twists and builds and 'How About No, Scott?' launches into a big tangled gang vocal/twin guitar assault, SYG begin to show their true colours. And while their promise is not always shown to its full potential, songs like 'Latch Key' show a very, very talented band that, when their new album is released this summer, could find themselves catapulated into the homes of many music fans.
