I'll give The Kimberley Steaks their due, they're certainly persistent. They've previously sent us two demos to review, and both got a rather painful 1/5. So when this self-titled five-tracker arrived on my doormat, I really did not expect anything too hot. And, true to form, this really isn't that good at all. However, to be fair, this is a lot better than their last two EPs. TKS play a trashy brand of pop-punk which is badly recorded and horrendously sung, but that's half of the band's appeal. They are sloppy and you can't make out the vocals, but, in their defence, they don't make too many efforts to hide the fact they are a very DIY act.

'How It Ends' sounds like a bad Green Day cover from 1988. 'Mindrot TV' is just really, really basic stuff - a couple of distorted power chords, throaty out-of-tune vocals and a basic drum pattern. There's really nothing here at all that warrants repeated listens and there are so many other bands out there who are far, far superior. But, as I have mentioned, this is better than last time so I guess they're on the right lines. And as long as they're having fun, I guess that is all that matters....
