What do you get when you take ex-members of D-rail, And None of Them Knew They Were Robots, Laura Audio and Send More Paramedics, throw in tender female vocals and add a splash of melodic indie rock? Well, something along the lines of what Leeds-based The Minor Fall have come up with. Released on new label Seduction Records, this seven-tracker features some cracking little songs that actually remind me of The Forecast. And yes I know they released their last record on Victory, but they're actually quite good too...

The Minor Fall don't do anything difficult, they keep to the simple things and, as a result, their efforts work well. 'After`All' is a little gem, and vocalist Jenn's warm vox perfectly suit what the band try and perform. I read another review on the internet comparing TMF to early The Get Up Kids crossed with The Paperbacks, and this is a fairly apt description. 'The Last Call' has a lovely melody, while the fragile 'Counting In Sixes' shows the band aren't a one trick pony. Already well received on the Leeds circuit, this release will further cement their position.
