vs Tiger Force split, Silent Front
Silent Front take up the first two tracks of this In It For The Money Records split, and by golly gosh am I glad. The post-hardcore Saaarf Lahndaners kick out some wonderful melodies and epic sounds, not a million miles away from the likes of Fugazi or Hot Cross. Things are hampered somewhat by poor, tinny-sounding production, but the quality of the songs holds up and the two tracks are not nearly enough for my liking. Record more, dammit.

Tiger Force throw in the remaining two tracks, and the contrast in styles couldn’t be more evident if it tried. Hard. Straddling numerous genres, this London two piece act seems to fall into the ever more popular camp of drum machine/muddy vocals/girl vocalist with irritating voice. It certainly isn’t bad, but it just isn’t my thing. It just makes me think of an NME audience. Not in a particularly bad way – it just does. Judgemental? Moi? Perish the thought. Think a less-heavy Blood Brothers (in a way) or a less-spasticated (and non-shit) Test Icicles.

First half good, second half not so good.
