Dance to the Rhythm, Twofold
So here we are, Twofold are dead and this is their entire works on one CD. For anyone familiar with the band, this is pretty much an essential purchase, charting how the band developed from a diamond in the rough to a diamond-in-the-making. I never got chance to see Twofold live, but having heard a couple of songs previously you could always tell there was talent there. This record goes a long way to proving that theory.

I won't go through in detail what is here, needless to say everything they have done, from proper releases ('Hammer To The Hornets' Nest' and splits with Lucky Thirteen, Fig 4.0, Bombjacks and GAS Drummers) to old-skool demos, is here. And while some is rough as arseholes and others a bit generic, if you go through this release choronologically you can really see the development in musicianship and songwriting ability. While starting off as a band that didn't really do much for me, by the time you get through to 'Hammer To The Hornets' Nest' the band had turned into a bit of a gem.

Fans will see this as a timely reminder for a band who will be sorely missed, while those looking to check out a classy UK act that didn't get the credit they deserve will also be impressed. This compilation of Twofold songs suggests they were improving at a rate of knots - they will be sadly missed.
