End It On This are a young and bouncy four - piece punk band from Cambridge. Cutting short pointless introductions, this band are what garage bands are all about, and this, their debut E.P is probably a record that is well worthy of catapulting the band into the higher reaches of the U.K scene. Whether it will or not, the bands work ethic will probably prove.

Supporting the likes of RX Bandits, Gash, 5Knuckle, The Fight and The Damned, End It On This have travelled the U.K and ventured into Europe developing their sound for nearly 3 years before coming clean with this release. Opening with “Not With You,” End It On This, are straight in with plenty of driving guitars, and stacks of melody, combining the speed and energy of punk, with a snappy outline of pop. Track 2, “Need More Sleep” reminds me of an Offspring track, with its moody opening bass line over working the drums, before guitars are added to create a sweeping, rhythmic feel. This track is by far the gem of this recording and refreshingly one of the best tracks from an unsigned band I’ve heard in a while.

At times on this CD, I feel production quality lacks. More often that not, the vocals are very distant from the music, which is a shame as the singer has a really decent voice to him. Additionally, in parts the bass suddenly drills over the top of the mix, causing confusion and disappointingly making some parts sound messy. In general, like most bands first few releases, this CD has its highs and lows, and importantly for this band more highs, which contribute to setting a pathway. End It On This maybe a band to watch in the future, so head over to their site and check them out.
