It's odd when you read a press release and the two press quotes have both been written by you. For two different publications. It's even weirder to open up the booklet and find my real name in the thanks list, without the @PT part. Get Cape... aka Sam Duckworth, is amazing. A one-man project, taking in computer samples and an acoustic guitar, this is one of the UK's brightest talents. I think the official 'sounds-like' list throws up names like Roni Size, Athlete, Gomez, Elbow, The Streets and Rival Schools, but I'd say this is a band worth talking about in their own breath.

From the adorable 'Whitewash Is Brainwash', through to the interesting 'A Song For', this is a fantastic record. It's clever, witty and thoughtful, building on the progress of the two-track demo that had already impressed me. Songs like 'Glass Houses' are built around a fast-paced sampled drum beat, all laced with a tender acoustic guitar and Sam's stripped down vocal. The choruses tend to be on the rather large side too - the aforementioned first song is particularly memorable, although the song named after the band - or is it vice versa? - probably tops the lot. To be honest, every song is fantastic in its own way and it'll be hard for people not to like tracks like 'I-Spy', a track beautifully written and performed.

Big things beckon for definite. It's not a complex process, yet a one-man band has come up with something interesting, intracite and exciting. Bending and blurring several genres successfully - and referencing some of the more 'remarkable' friend's bands along the way - this is an excellent starting point and another fine release from BSM. Only 500 copies of this EP have been printed and I'm pretty sure they'll be snapped up very quickly indeed...
