Watch the video for ‘Audibly Bored’ from Sad Blood

By Glen Bushell

We love Sad Blood here at Punktastic. They have been one of the stand out UK bands in 2016, and are surely only going to reach greater heights in the new year. It’s a pleasure, then, for us to present to you their new video for ‘Audibly Bored’, which you can see below.

“The song about drinking to escape,” say the band of ‘Audibly Bored’. “Pretending to like stuff you don’t just because you like someone. Turning yourself into something you’re not just to get through the day. Drinking too much to find the courage to talk to that person you like but that just makes it worse. Pretending everything is alright when it’s not. The name comes from a friend of mine who was at a concert and said there was a man near him who was clearly very fed up with being there. Fidgeting and loudly sighing, Matt said he was audibly bored and I thought it was a great name for a song.

“I guess the video is kinda how I feel at parties or nights out sometimes,” they continue. “Bowling around feeling awful drinking too much but putting on a happy face. This is kinda the side that no one sees. You still end up drowning in your problems if you try to run away from them, it’s better to talk about it than to try to drink it all away. Sometimes I think I’m at my most creative when I’m feeling down and that in itself is destructive. The feeling you can’t create or write unless you’re sad can be a difficult one to break. I read some stuff about it on Punk Talks and having a great community of friends and people to talk to about it has helped a lot. You’re not alone if you feel this way and help is there if you want it.”

‘Audibly Bored’ is taken from their Sad Blood’s ‘Legion Of Gloom’ EP, which you can pick up now over at their Bandcamp Page. They will also be taking part in Mousapalooza on Sunday December 11th at the Tooting Tram and Social, alongside Johnny Foreigner, itoldyouiwouldeatyou, Yearbook, and more.
