Watch the new video from Talk Us Down

For a long time,  pop-punk was dominated by bands from across the pond, although in recent years, the UK scene has shown that it can compete with our transatlantic cousins. You Me At Six have become a band that can sell out arenas, and the popularity of Neck Deep and As It Is has risen quicker than you can blink. A new name you can add to list of ever-growing bands in this thriving scene is Talk Us Down from Kent, and today we are bringing you the video for their new single ‘Streets Of Gold’.

The song itself stems from vocalist Luke Besant leaving his rundown, coastal, holiday resort town for the bright lights of London. Unfortunately, the struggles that came with the move – including an awful incident were Besant was held at knife-point in his own home, saw him sink into self-loathing. luckily, through the bands music, he has managed to pull himself out of this. “I’m proud to have bounced back from my recent depression thanks to our humble, but incredibly supportive following” the vocalist enthuses. “I’m back on my way up, and I’m also proud to say my hometown is too’.

Produced by Feed The Rhino bassist Oz Craggs at Hidden Track Studios in Folkestone, ‘Streets Of Gold’ is full of driving guitars and uplifting, melodic hooks. It is also an excellent precursor to Talk Us Down’s forthcoming EP ‘Your Hearts Not In It’, which is due for release in March next year.

‘Streets Of Gold’ is available to purchase on iTunes now, and you can check out the video for the excellent track below.
