Watch the new High Tides video for ‘Bridges’

By Glen Bushell

Sometimes in life it’s better to walk away from a situation for your own health, and High Tides know that all to well. That’s the topic of their new single, ‘Bridges’, which we are exclusively premiering below.

“Bridges is a song about when you’re seeing someone and it comes to that time where things either progress or regress,” say the band of the track. “The line – ‘Not scared of burning bridges, its walking on them that scares me’ sums it up pretty well; sometimes you would rather pass on something than get hurt through trying. I think everyone has been haunted by a road not taken and think about it from time to time, this song is a representation of that feeling.

“We decided to go quite minimalistic with the video, using an all black and white theme with our clothing contrasting the plain background,” they continue. “We decided to go with a single band member per shot system, just as we’d not seen it used that often and thought it would give a bit more of an edge than the usual full band video.”

‘Bridges’ is taken from High Tides forthcoming mini-album, ‘I’m Not Giving Up, I’m Just Starting Over’, which is out 17th March via Scylla Records. Pre-orders are available now, and you can catch the band at the dates below.
