Stream the new ‘Fates’ EP by London punks The Drunken Ramblings

By Ben Tipple

The Drunken Ramblings provide everything their name implies. The London four-piece present a fast paced raw punk sound, often unintelligible, suitably coarse and always energetic. From the off-kilter ‘Fates’ intro to the visceral ‘Silhouettes’ and the comparably subdued ‘Grinding My Teeth’, The Drunken Ramblings emit competence in their deliberately scewed delivery. Like most who have had a few too many, there’s a fine line between between endearingly brash and annoyingly rude. With ‘Fates’, The Drunken Ramblings sit firmly in the former.

“‘Fates’ has a much darker tone to our previous EP, mainly due to what was happening in our lives at the time the songs were written,” The Drunken Ramblings add. “The title is a reference to the Moirai from Greek mythology who were said to control the thread of life and the fate of every mortal from birth to death. It felt like an apt way to describe this period of time and the subjects referenced in the songs.”
