Stream ‘Moon Choker’ from YARDS’ upcoming full-length

By Mark Johnson

London hardcore quartet YARDS will release ‘Excitation Thresholds’ on August 25 and we’re bringing you an exclusive stream of ‘Moon Choker’ from the upcoming full-length. The band formed five years ago as a side-project from the members’ main bands (Ghost of a Thousand, Astrohenge, Econo and Nitkowski) but has since become the primary focus of their creative energies.

“‘Moon Choker’ was the last song we wrote for the record,” the band explain. “This last year has seen science and scientific endeavour become politicised and attacked in an unprecedented way, largely from the right – environmental studies being singled out the most. ‘Moon Choker’ is about that struggle, and our total lack of understanding as to why a set of men and women (who for-the-most-part work tirelessly and quietly to improve our lives and the state of the planet) are finding their methods, motivations and findings pulled apart by people who have no understanding of science, technological advancement and the use of evidence to inform opinion. And they usually use Twitter to express this. The wilfully ignorant nob heads.”

Pre-orders for ‘Excitation Threshold’ are available here and you can check out ‘Moon Choker’ below:
