Sancho Panzer’s ‘It Can Only Be So Good’ has been a long time coming

Exeter post-punks Sancho Panzer are about to release their debut album, one that has been on the table since 2007. Having released their debut EP, ‘A Current Archetypal’, in 2006 – two years after forming from the ashes of I Fell Over – it has taken the trio nine years to get ‘Your Own Accord’ to the masses.

Despite early acclaim, the departure of lead Al Tickle plus the daily grind saw the recorded material fade into a distant memory. It was only as now-vocalist Adam became a dad that he decided the time was right to bring the old band back together, spurred on by proving to his newborn that what has been started must be followed through.

Adding two new tracks to the previously recorded ten, ‘Your Own Accord’ also features ‘It Can Only Be So Good’.

“It was my favourite song to record because we got loads of our mates into the studio to do the gang vocals,” Adam explains. “We didn’t record any other tracks at the same time, we were solely focused on that one during that particular studio session. Lyrically it’s about the hyperbole in various newspaper campaigns and how hard they try and force moral opinions on the general public. Musically it’s one of our more straightforward poppy arrangements.”

‘Your Own Accord’ will be available from the 18th March 2016.
