Matt Wixson’s Flying Circus Has Come To Town

By Maryam Hassan

Roll up! Roll up! We’ve got a stream for you today from Matt Wixson’s Flying Circus! “FIGJAM” is taken from the band’s upcoming record about time and is upbeat, folky, punk goodness sure to get you up and dancing. Sometimes we just need bands to say “I’m gonna be alright! Things are great and I can’t complain” really and ‘FIGJAM’ is all about taking the bad stuff in the day and going yeah I can get used to this, and trying to be positive. I don’t know about you but I’m down with that attitude. Check out the track below:

Matt says about the album “About Time the band further explores their favorite topics – the nature of the universe and the ways in which one deals with depression. This six-song burst at 45 RPM discusses predeterminism, acceptance, optimism, and hopelessness, each a meditation on what the future could (or must) be. It is philosophy and therapy, with singalongs and four-letter words, and it is about time. “FIGJAM”, the first promotional song from the record, has already become a live favorite. The title stands for “Fuck I’m Good, Just Ask Me” and was gleaned from a business meeting. The song recounts tough tours, unsteady incomes and awful jobs, and reminds one that the struggles of today and tomorrow can be managed just as past struggles were.”

‘About Time’ is out on the wonderful Community Records on March 11th and you can pre-order it now right here.
