Listen to the new self-titled EP from The Mausoleum Trap

By Glen Bushell

It can be hard to stay relevant in heavy music these days, so the key is to make an impact in the hardest way possible. That’s what South Coast metal band The Mausoleum Trap have done with their frantic self-titled EP, which we are exclusively bringing you below.

“We played these songs live without lyrics for a few months and I just let whatever was on my mind consciously flow, there’s an energy to it,” says vocalist Elliot Dixon. “I don’t think songs should be written on a piece of paper in your bedroom but there in the moment and that’s the way I’ve always done it, every set was different and to me that’s what live music is about and what The Mausoleum Trap is about.

“The final lyrics for this EP are reflections of the things I’ve learnt about the world and the people who inhabit it, we never seem to see the full picture and always feel so much more comfortable with our lives ignoring the bigger issues humanity is now facing. There are always bigger problems and we should always fight for what we think is right even if there is no one listening.”

The EP will be released on January 30th through all good digital streaming services, with a limited number available. Check out The Mausoleum Trap on Bandcamp for more information.
