Listen to the new Kid Mud track, ‘Joey Crown’

By Glen Bushell

Kid Mud was Sean Duncan, an indie rock vet formerly of Fiver, but with time, Kid Mud has seemingly morphed beyond “one man band” status into something larger than the sum of its parts. He has recruited friends Steve Brooks, Mike Reavill, Nick Ruiz, and Mike Watkins for new input to allow Kid Mud’s creative sound to mature.

With five diverse musicians from varying tastes and backgrounds, they come together to compile a sound of their own. Unlike earlier Kid Mud (recorded and live) the sound has taken on a new beast of delivering a full, rich sound while maintaining compelling dynamics. Kid Mud’s sound brings both the soft and loud like some more well known bands, And You Will Know Us By The Trail of Dead and Built to Spill.

Their latest album,’It’s Time To Relate’ is a compilation of b-sides that have been released through the years or never released at all. The first single, ‘Joey Crown’ is a story of looking forward to not knowing what there is to look forward to. It’s Time to Relate will be released on March 24th with pre-orders now available at their Bandcamp. They are also in the studio now working on brand new songs to hopefully release in the near future.
