Let Orcas raise your new music ‘Pulse’

By Ben Tipple

Even in these comparably early days, having only formed towards the end of 2015, Birmingham five-piece Orcas are showcasing themselves as an exciting prospect. Offering a unique style, new track ‘Pulse’ blends the broad experimentation of Black Peaks with the thunderous atmospherics of Bring Me The Horizon and vocalist Ben Lindsay’s haunting vocals. It forges their own space within the British underground, adjacent to but slightly removed from their contemporaries.

“The song is about the culmination of feelings that you have when you start to realise the people that you thought had your back and supported you, leave when everything goes wrong,” Lindsay explains of the new track. “We used the concept of a person in a coma or in a paralysed state being able to see the people around them mourning for their own attention.”

“With the music video, we decided to keep the shot relatively simple so it wasn’t detracting from the lyrics while still trying to create a fitting atmosphere for the sombre tone of the song.”
