Coming from a rich stock of hardcore and punk bands from Germany, Earl Grey are yet another excellent product of the country. As they prepare to release their new EP, 'The Times You Cross My Mind', they joined us to put together a special playlist.

“We decided on a list of 10 Songs which shows our favorite punk bands from Germany,” say the band of their choice of guest playlist. It’s just a list and the position of the songs doesn’t say anything about our preferences. Some might say this song is not ‘punk’ and complain about how you could put them in some sub-genre but fuck it, in the end it’s all punk!”

01 AYS – ‘Ambitions’

AYS is a band from our hometown. They showed us that you can make it. They even toured with Trapped Under Ice, Madball and many more great acts!

02 Muff Potter – ‘100 Kilo’

Muff Potter was one of the greatest punk bands of all time. Rest in Power!

03 Rivershores – ‘Cynic’s Smile’

One of the nicest bands out there. Check them out, they have a new LP out titled ‘Dizzy Lows’.

04 Turbostaat – ‘Wieso Herbst?’

They were there when we first started listening to punk and they are still there. They still produce real bangers…what else can you ask for from a band?

05 Smile And Burn – ‘Dear Shepherd’

Smile and Burn have been around for quite a while. The five-piece from Berlin even toured with pop-punk legends Man Overboard. Undoubtedly a piece of modern German punk history.

06 Elm Tree Circle – ‘Numb Vision’

ETC are some of our closest friends. We went on tour together and hang out on a regularly basis because they’re lads! They make great music and they’re really talented in videographic work. Check them out!

07 Forkupines – ‘Nothing Short of Magic’

Very energetic and an awesome live band. Try to catch them at a show, you won’t be disappointed!

08 Thrashkat – ‘Sticky Minds’

Young and dynamic band from Hamburg. Killer vocalist, funny dudes. Hoping for a new EP from them soon!

09 No Fun – ‘Until My Heart Explodes’

We once played a hometown show with them. Great live act and great people too!

10 December Youth – ‘Shiver’

Our rehearsal room buddies. Thanks for giving us a place to practice when we needed it most. We shared a lot of good times together. They’re about to record a new EP so keep your eyes peeled!

‘The Times You Cross My Mind’ is released on July 21 and is available to pre-order now. Take a listen to their new single, ‘Nothing’, below.
