Frauen shake off woes on boldly delivered new single, ‘In-Between’

By Aaron Lohan

We at Punktastic are proud to be exclusively streaming Frauen’s new song, ‘In-Between’.

Featuring current/former members of Maths, The Sinking Feeling and Undo, the Glaswegian band deal in gut punchingly delivered punk/post hardcore which harkens reminds one of Jawbreaker and Unwound.

“‘In-Between’ was the very first song written for this project, before I even knew what it was going to be,” explains lead vocalist/guitarist Adam Lamont. “I had woken up the morning after a bad break-up, which took me a while to get over, but immediately felt compelled to pick up my flat-mates acoustic guitar and start playing. The whole thing came pretty quickly, I had an idea for the melody and just went with it and it taught me both how cathartic songwriting can be but also that I could maybe front my own band sometime. I guess you could say Frauen was conceived on that day, it was at that moment I knew that I would be moving back to Scotland to form a band with my pals and tell a (then still incomplete) story.”

‘In-Between’ can be found on Frauen’s upcoming debut full length, ‘Unreal City’, which will be released digitally and on casette on the 10th February, with a vinyl release due for the 10th March. You can order it on their bandcamp page. The trio will also be heading out on a UK tour next month, which includes an appearance at our Punktastic Presents show at The Old Blue Last in London on the 13th February, with Modern Rituals, Rope and Mercury Tales. You can find info on the show’s Facebook event page.
