First play of the new Wood and Nails single, ‘Sorrow’

By Glen Bushell

You may remember that last summer we premiered the debut EP by Birmingham’s Wood and Nails. Now, almost exactly a year later, we are bringing you an exclusive first play of their excellent new single, ‘Sorrow’.

“The track is about the feeling of disconnect between people living their lives and the people who control our lives,” explains vocalist/guitarist, Paul Beaumont. “t seems every day there’s something new in the news to push us further apart from each other and to disconnect us and the verses are about that, but then the chorus and outro has a more optimistic view that as long as we can stay together we can make a positive change to each others lives. It’s just unfortunate that the people at the top are so disconnected that it’s down to the people who have the least to do the most.

“Musically it’s a little more thought out, a little less abrasive than all our other stuff, that’s why I think it works best as a one off single before we get in the studio to record another EP with a release coming hopefully early 2017.”

‘Sorrow’ is available to pre-order digitally here, and Wood and Nails will be laying a release show at The Sunflower Lounge in Birmingham on July 30th.
