First play of the new Splitsville track, ‘Bored Of You’

By Ben Tipple

Exeter four-piece Splitsville aren’t holding back on the scathing ‘Bored Of You’. “Bored of your voice,” the chorus snarls, “bored of your smile.” This brazen attitude is mirrored in their musical direction, swirling around a combination of styles that accentuate the venomous tones.

“‘Bored of You’ is the first single to come from our upcoming record,” Splitsville explain. “We felt like it really embodies the progression in sound for the band and the direction the new record is taking. We have worked really hard to capture all of the influences on this band from multiple genres including hardcore, grunge, DIY punk, and emo, and bring them into something we can call our own. We wanted to demonstrate the emotion and energy we put into song writing and playing, and feel this track represents that. We’re really proud of this first single and are really enthusiastic about playing it live.”

Splitsville hit the road in the support of the track and their forthcoming record alongside Middle Distance, starting with a hometown show tonight [12th August]. For more on the band, check out Facebook.
