First play of the new Penthouse track, ‘Chuck’

By Ben Tipple

“We’re just four mates from Kent/London who share a love for riffs and rock music,” says Ben of alternative four-piece Penthouse. “We take influence from a few places, namely early Foo Fighters, Weezer and new Citizen but our tastes are pretty broad.”

This wide taste is reflected in ‘Chuck’, a track that drifts from expansive grunge soundscapes to understated gnarls and guitar solos.

“After a year spent writing our debut EP in various practice rooms and bedrooms, we finally finished the recording process at The Clubhouse Studios (Moose Blood) in April of this year with the help of our good friend Ricky,” Ben continues. “Our ‘Solemn’ EP and our single ‘Chuck’ are something we are all immensely proud of and we really can’t wait to finally share both with everyone.”

‘Solemn’ will be available from the 2nd September via the ever-reliable Beth Shalom Records. Having already played shows with the likes of Fresh, Coloured In and RAIN, and will play with Middle Distance at a house show in Southampton on Sunday 14th August.
