First play of the new EP by hardcore mob Colors Dead Bleed

By Ben Tipple

Split between Belgium and Holland, Colors Dead Bleed are a superground of sorts formed by previous members of mainland European outfits Tech-9, Human Demise, The Butcher and Between The Lines. Taking influence from their heroes Sick Of It All, Rise Against and Comeback Kid, their ‘Breath Of A Ghost’ EP is a melodic hardcore onslaught.

“We are very exited about the new record ‘Breath of a Ghost’,” they explain. “The album really captures the sheer energy of classic, melodic hardcore music we have grown to love so much throughout our lives. The album resembles the musical progression that Colors Dead Bleed has gone through since the release of the ‘Heritage’ EP in 2014.”

“Working with Erik Klinger (ex-ProPain / SPudmonsters) on the new record has been an absolute pleasure. He is a true veteran in the underground music scene and foremost, an awsome producer. We feel we have really captured the energy of the band on the ’Breath of a Ghost’ record and we can’t wait to get the album out there and start playing these songs live.”

Perhaps morbid on the surface, the album’s title brings with it a positive message. “We are all touched by death throughout life until it finally reaches every one of us” Colors Dead Bleed explain. “Therefore, it is not something to fear but a constant reminder to make the most out of everything in the time we are here, with the people and things we love most.”

‘Breath of a Ghost’ will be available from the 11th April via White Russian Records.
