First play of the ‘Black Heart’ LP by Chad Bandit

By Ben Tipple

On ‘Black Heart’, the second full-length by Portland singer-songriter Chad Bandit (real name Chad Doriguzz), he strips his sound right back to its bare-bones. Sacrificing his full band exploit on previous release ‘The Morning After’, Doriguzz instead takes inspiration from the likes of Brian Fallon and Frank Turner, as well as emo artists Matt Pryor and Ace Enders. The sound borrows the folk nods of the former and the emotion of the latter, all the while presented by Doriguzz’s often gritty vocals. ‘Black Heart’ is built around thirty straight days of rain in Doriguzz’s hometown, soaking the darker atmosphere into his sound.

‘Black Heart’ will be available from the 14th July and is available to stream exclusively below. More on Chad Bandit is available via Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
