First Play of Holy Smokes! storming new track, ‘…More Like Borophyll’

By Glen Bushell

For Arkansas punk rock band Holy Smokes! vocalist/guitarist, Stanley Soultaire, he needed to find the light at the end of the tunnel. After battling some inner demons, he found his way out and channelled his thoughts directly into the trio’s new single, ‘…More Like Borophyll’, which we are bringing you the premiere of below.

“…More Like Borophyll” is a song that represents a specific time in my life,” says Soultaire of the track. “I battled with poor choices, addiction, compromise, but I came out on the other side of those times as a better person but no where close to proud of myself. It’s an apology to my family, friends, and myself. We all make mistakes, it’s forgiving yourself that can be the hardest part. I’m good now…been good for a while. We just hope as a band maybe we can shed some light in a dark place and help others struggling with the same problems and show that life can be happy and beautiful. You just just have to make it that way.”

‘…More Like Borophyll’ is taken from the bands forthcoming EP, ‘Scorched’, which is released on June 17th via Ronald Records, and is available to pre-order now. The band will playing several shows in support of the release, which you can see the dates for below.
