First play of ‘Alpha Omega’, the new video from Marshall Poole

Idaho psych-rock band, Marshall Poole, are getting ready to release a new record, but not before they sign off on their 2015 album, ‘Totems’. Ahead of their performance at Treefort Fest in their hometown of Boise, the band have put together a video for ‘Alpha Omega’, which you can exclusively take a look at below.

“Things happened pretty fast,” said Rider Soran, guitarist/vocalist. “We toured throughout the spring and summer after we released ‘Totems’ and, during that time, we ended up writing an album’s worth of brand new songs… so we figured we should record it as quickly as possible so our ideas stayed fresh, but we wanted to make sure we released a music video before we left ‘Totems’ completely.”

“First of all, I love this song,” adds the director of the video, Jessica Winfree. “It inherently has a darkness, voicing the power that can be cultivated in that darkness. However, there is a thin line that can, and does, get crossed into madness and self-destruction. Our dancing protagonist does exactly that.

“I referred to tarot cards to grow his narrative, which aligned remarkably with the lyrics of ‘Alpha Omega’,” she continues. “On the path to self discovery, he battles the light with his mask of shadows. The culmination of his darkness leads to chaos, collapse, and the death of our character’s chapter.”
