Discover Story’s heavy soft-side on ‘Article 10’

By Ben Tipple

“We definitely offer both the heavier and softer sides,” says Story vocalist Bill Hobson, a style demonstrated on their new track ‘Article 10’. Clearly driven by melody, the Sheffield five-piece merge a multitude of genres to create their pop-rock style. Speaking of ‘Article 10’, the band say it “best introduces and represents Story.”

“Lyrically it covers the idea of letting go of someone you lost, in order to put your mind and peace, as dwelling only leads to mental torture,” the continue. “The video having a metaphorical base is hard to explain and best left open to interpretation. Written from the guy’s perspective, presented cinematically from the girl’s, her suffering is as a result of her own selfishness. Don’t take things for granted.”

‘Article 10’ is taken from their forthcoming ‘Hopeless But Hoping’ EP, due for release on the 4th March 2016.

“We have all been in previous bands that split after the first release,” Hobson explains. “The recording of our second EP brought us closer together as a band as we learned what each of us had to offer, and we all contributed to the final product. The development of our understanding has resulted in a more focussed and mature sound.”
