Swmrs might annoy you. I think that became immediately evident when witnessing their Emily’s Army incarnation at Reading Fest last year, all in matching outfits. Matching outfits? Not very rock and roll right.

Then they decided to re-brand, lose the Emily’s Army moniker and come back as Swmrs (where are all these vowels going?!). They also decided that their lead single was going to be about Miley Cyrus. Not just that, they revealed they’d be working alongside FIDLAR’s Zac Carper on their debut album. All of this makes them awesome, especially writing an ode to Miley Cyrus.

‘Figuring It Out’, their latest song, is catchy as hell. There’s moments that sound like blink-182, moments that sound like FIDLAR, and even moments that sound like 5 Seconds Of Summer. But what makes Swmrs so good? I seriously don’t think they give a shit if they annoy you. And if they do, you’re probably wrong.
