It was only a few weeks ago that we named King Woman as one of our Ones To Watch In 2017. We are barely a month into the new year and the Californian atmospheric doom band are already living up to the task.

In that time they have released two songs from their forthcoming debut album, ‘Created In The Image Of Suffering’. Unsurprisingly, both of them are stunning. They have built on the sound they carved out with their previous releases; the guitars are thick and loud, the songs are more dynamic, and Kristina Esfandiari has accentuated her vocal delivery to reach harrowing new highs.

I’ve been championing King Woman since the start. My prediction is that with this new record, and a well-deserved spot on Chelsea Wolfe’s upcoming UK tour, everyone is finally going to understand what I’ve been talking about for the last 3 years.
