If someone threw the sound of The Breeders, Sleater Kinney, and Bully into a pot, it would come out sounding like Lady Pills. Entering with a lurching bassline, ‘Irrelevant’ is carried by bright guitar lines and infectious vocal melodies that build into a warm and gritty fuzz.
What’s even more exciting about Lady Pills is that this is just the first taste of their debut album, ‘Despite’. If the rest of the tracks carry the same self-assured confidence as ‘Irrelevant’, it could well be one of the surprise albums of the year.
