Eat Me are brimming with brash, unadulterated attitude

Kent’s Eat Me treat every stage like their playground, be they opening for the fast-rising Milk Teeth on their UK tour or playing to a handful of bemused onlookers underground in Margate ahead of Dogs On Acid – the first time I was lucky enough to be subjected to their onstage bravado. Frontman Jamie Warnes exudes a cocky confidence, infecting his bandmates, treating every performance like the biggest party of their lives.

It’s matched in sound too. There’s a boisterous nature to Eat Me that stays on the right side of obnoxious. It’s brash, unadulterated, and most importantly, fun. ‘What You Doing?’, their proper release to date, is as much punk as it is bratty pop, and boy is it good. Eat Me are slacker-rock at its finest; effortless and frivolous, yet at the same time accomplished.
