Darkher takes you to blackest regions of the soul

I’ve been following excellent German label, Prophecy Productions, for quite some time, largely due to my ongoing obsession with Alcest. I was digging around their website recently and stumbled open Darkher and was instantly mesmerised.

There are notably comparisons to Chelsea Wolfe in Darkher’s music, particularly in Jayn Hanna Wissenberg’s ghostly vocal delivery. It sits atop the dark, brooding accompaniment like a winter mist, and soars when the slow burn gives way to an earth-shattering wall of guitars and pounding drums. Far from an easy listen, it is a harrowing trip into the blackest regions of the soul.
