City Mouse’s first track to appear from their forthcoming debut full-length ‘Get Right’ is one hell of an introduction to their more settled line-up. Fusing traditional punk rock with the contemporary leanings of many of their friends, ‘The Guardians’ is punchy but not abrasive. Instead it allows vocalist and guitarist Miski Dee to present a genuine air of frustration in what she is singing, underpinned by a subtle yet unwavering anger. Complimented by a suitably unpolished sound delivered by Kyle Manning and Nicholas Richard of various other stateside outfits, with melodies as catchy and a passion as raw, ‘Get Right’ is looking very promising already.
