Former Misfits guitarist Doyle Wolfgang von Frankenstein returns with the first single from his upcoming second album ‘Doyle II As We Die’.

‘Run For Your Life’ continues the bands faultless brand of horror punk as well as Doyle’s own legacy. Flanked by the furious vocals of Alex ‘Wolfman’ Story and the insane talent of Brandon Pertzborn on drums, the track is an education on how to master guitar riffs by the self proclaimed vegan monster.

After last year’s headline slots at Riot Fest it looks like it could be another long wait before Misfits are back with us, but while we wait longingly Doyle is without doubt the best way to pass the time.

Cardiff lads Astroid boys return with their new single ‘Foreigners’ and hold nothing back, letting the world know just how they feel about current global events. This time around they’ve recruited Sonny Double 1 to provide the hugely catchy chorus with a message, which resonates loud and clear, simply stating “We know that you don’t like the foreigners.”

The guys have always looked to deal with relevant issues, be it the struggles of growing up in Cardiff’s CF10, or in this case, the current political climate in the wake of Brexit and Donald Trump. Both have seen a spike in hatred, and with this track Astroid Boys look to let everyone know just what affect this is having. If you’re heading to Download Festival make sure you catch them, as they never fail to deliver an incredibly energetic live set.

Last week was undoubtedly a huge one for Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes. Their acclaimed second album ‘Modern Ruin’ hit number 7 in the UK album charts, and they celebrated with a string of acoustic sets before flying off on tour in support of Biffy Clyro. Whilst the new album may not be the heavy album some fans would have expected it is arguably a contender for album of the year already, and their success is testament to their talents.

Frank’s singing voice has a way of reaching the darkest depths of the listeners mind. As was the case with ‘I Hate You’ from the previous album ‘Real Life’ tells a tale of tragedy and broken hearts. I’ve been listening to the album on repeat for the best part of a week and this track just never gets old. But don’t take my word for it! Check out the video right here.

This Manchester duo are one that have been on my radar for a little while now, having released a couple of EP’s since forming back in 2012.  However, the release of debut album, ‘Atomised’, at the back end of last year was a statement of intent.

The bands latest single, ‘Tongue Tied’, is the most aggressive from it. If, like me, you’re a huge fan of bands like Queens of The Stone Age and Deftones, then get this in your ears!
