We Are The Ocean cover London Grammar’s ‘Hey Now’

By Ben Tipple

We Are The Ocean have posted a video of them covering ‘Hey Now’ by London atmospheric trio, London Grammar. The track will be released as a single on the 8th January 2016, and follows the release of ‘Ark’, plus appearances at Reading and Leeds over the summer.

We Are The Ocean first performed the track for BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge last November, before heading into the studio to re-record the track and film a video with director Daniel Broadley.

“We were looking for a song we could really out our stamp on and listened to a lot to see what intrigued us,” the band explain. “We are all big fans of London Grammar and when we thought about doing ‘Hey Now’ ideas immediately started forming for the strings and the arrangement. So we went with it!”

We Are The Ocean play London’s O2 Academy Islington tomorrow [Friday 20th November].
