Sparrow Sleeps reveal pop-punk for kids

By Ben Tipple

We’ve been following Sparrow Sleeps for some time now. Starting as the creators of lullaby versions of tracks by favourite alternative artists including Say Anything, Taking Back Sunday and Motion City Soundtrack, they have now expanded their repertoire with original material. The latest sees Real Friends vocalist Dan Lambton and Knuckle Puck’s Joe Taylor introduce young people to the concept of sharing.

“When Dan and I were asked to do a song for this Sparrow Sleeps compilation, we were ecstatic,” says Taylor. “Dan and I hang out often enough, and are goofy in our own sense, so this was sort of the perfect way to showcase that in a song.”

The track is the second to appear from Sparrow Sleeps’ forthcoming ‘Start A Band’ LP, welcoming the likes of Nick Diener of The Swellers, Ace Enders of The Early November and Mike Herrera of MXPX as guest vocalists.

Sparrow Sleeps have also unveiled ‘The Sugar Song’ featuring Kailynn West of Tiny Stills and Tony Thaxton of Motion City Soundtrack.

The full album will be available from the 21st October 2016. More details can be found here.
