Punk Talks announces ‘accountability workshops’ for early 2018

By Ashwin Bhandari

Punk Talks, the volunteer-led mental health organization recently announced on Twitter that in 2018 they will be launching a new service specifically for people who wish to seek help with problematic sexual behaviors.

Punk Talks followed this tweet with an explanation regarding their decision to implement these workshops:

“We are implementing this program because social isolation is unrealistic and more dangerous in the long run. When we push out abusers, they perpetuate a cycle of harm in other communities. Our workshops are about assault prevention and education, not erasing the past.”

The organization provides links to affordable mental health services in the United States, testimonies of experiences from members of the music industry, and has been endorsed by the likes of Modern Baseball, Sorority Noise, Turnover, Free Throw and Spraynard.
