Original Owl Sanctuary location listed as Asset of Community Value

By Ben Tipple

In an interesting turn of events, the originally location of Norwich’s The Owl Sanctuary has been listed as an Asset of Community Value by the local council.

The decision means the site cannot be used for purposes other than a pub without first being offered to the community to purchase for its original use. The site’s new-found status makes it difficult for property developer Richard Pratt, and his reported plans to build luxury flats.

Although The Owl Sanctuary has, following an extremely success crowd-funding campaign, relocated to Timber Hill, it still marks a huge success for the local community who rose up against Pratt’s plans.
