Green Day reveal ‘Heart Like A Hand Grenade’ release schedule

By Ben Tipple

Having premiered yesterday, the full release details for the new Green Day documentary has been confirmed. ‘Heart Like A Hand Grenade’ follows the band’s creative journey around their 2005 release, ‘American Idiot’.

“We can’t believe this was shot over a decade ago. Little did we know that this was only the beginning of the adventure this record would go on to be,” says Billie Joe Armstrong. “We are stoked for our fans to see this footage for the first time and watch us try and figure it all out.”

With its debut screening at 38th Mill Valley Film Festival behind us, the film will reach more than 135 screens across the US on the 15th October courtesy of Abramorama. VimeoOn Demand will host the feature the following day, before international distribution on the 11th November.

Those unable to catch the limited screenings will be able to get hold of the DVD and view the documentary digitally from the 13th November via Reprise Records. Digital pre-orders are now available.

Full details of the screenings are available via the official website.
