Milwaukee musician Brett Newski has launched his new album, ‘Land, Air, Sea, Garage’. The sophomore record saw Newski retire to the Sri Lankan jungle, build around Newski’s desire to throw himself into the world. That sound has already garnered comparisons to the likes of Weezer, Frank Turner and Elliot Smith.
Inspired by his DIY attitude, Newski spends his time travelling the world and playing some unusual shows. “You don’t need a fancy label or big wig industry exec to represent you,” he says. “I didn’t want to wait for lightning to strike, so I just started hitting the road and taking the beatings as they came. It’s worth it.”
In his tongue-in-cheek style, Newski has announced the album via the “worst press conference ever.”
‘Land, Air, Sea, Garage’, the follow-up to ‘American Folk Armageddon’ will be available from the 18th August via Make My Day Records in Europe, and the 4th November in the US. There’s a crowd-source campaign for the record too, where you can pre-order the record. You can also bitch slap Brett with a giant salmon.
Brett recently unveiled the video for ‘Cigaretiquett’, which you can watch below.
