BEARTOOTH announce ‘The Blackbird Session’ EP

By Andy Joice

Lovers of Beartooth rejoice! New material! Sort of.

It’s unusual for a band at the peak of their genre to make such an unusual flip on their sound but Beartooth are no ordinary band and ‘The Blackbird Session’ is no ordinary release. Featuring re imaginings of tracks from their 2018 hit album ‘Disesase’, ‘The Blackbird Session’ focuses on stripping them back and delivering it in a folk and country way.

“When the idea came up to do acoustic sessions, immediately my mind went to family holidays. Constantly surrounded by singing old hymns and harmonies on harmonies. The idea of taking Beartooth in a direction of my first musical moments in life felt right,” said frontman Caleb Shomo. While this doesn’t feel like a step in a new direction, it does show both Shomo’s love for music as well as the talent within the band.
