Bash & Pop (ex The Replacements) to reissue debut album, ‘Friday Night Is Killing Me’

By Aaron Lohan

Featuring former The Replacements bassist Tommy Stinson, Bash & Pop have announced that they will be re-releasing their 1993 debut album, ‘Friday Night Is Killing Me’.

Originally released through Sire Records and Reprise Records, this expanded edition of the album will feature eighteen bonus tracks of b-sides and rarities, photos, and new liner notes from Bob Mehr, who wrote the biography ‘Trouble Boys: The True Story of The Replacements. It will be released on the 8th September via Omnivore Recordings. To coincide with the announcement, the alt rockers have premiered a demo of ‘Never Aim to Please’ at Brooklyn Vegan.

Stinson originally formed the band in 1991 following The Replacements’ original break up and was its lead vocalist/guitarist. They were active until 1994 after they released their aforementioned debut, the previous year. The band reformed last year with a new line up, and last week, they released their long awaited second album, ‘Anything Could Happen’, via Fat Possum Records. The band will be playing the following run of UK shows from tomorrow in support of the new record.
