We have to admit, there’s always some cynicism when a band announces their end years in advance. It’s difficult to shake the feeling that it’s all part of some hype machine. Then again, Brand New are the masters of hype. There are sporadic new tracks, hints of new albums and now, a t-shirt that overtly hints of their demise come 2018.

It follows the band’s “RIP 2018” postcards from last year. Fans have, of course, also been quick to pick up on the fact that it makes them 18 forever. If you are unsure of the reference, stream ‘Soco Amearetto Lime’ below.
One of the t-shirts depicting the dates is called ‘Resurrection’ though. So let’s be fair, we have no clue what’s going on.
