Very rarely do I go to shows anymore and have the pleasure of seeing a band for the first time that genuinely excite me.
When I saw Canterbury supporting Tellison at the KCLSU back in February, boy, did they excite me. So much so in fact, that their Myspace was my 'most visited' webpage for a solid two months at least.
Over the past year and a bit, they've become regulars on the live circuit, and their synth-driven, double-vocal pop-punk ditties have earned them slots supporting the likes of Enter Shikari, You Me At 6 and The Automatic. Oh, they also outperformed almost every other band at this year's Slam Dunk Festival too. That's not an opinion, that's a straight up fact.
I honestly believe this band are going to be huge. You Me At Six huge.
Seriously, every single person I've told about Canterbury has fallen in love with them. To understand why, head over to their Myspace and give 'Friends? We're more like a gang?' one listen. Just one. You will not be able to get that middle 8 out of your head for days.
Word from the band is their debut album is 'very, very near completed', but in the meantime, they release their first proper single, 'Eleven, Twelve' on 22nd June through Friends Vs Records. To tie us over until then, we've got the video available to view right here on Punktastic.com.
