And here's the thing, the thing that is both as screamingly, violently obvious as it is quietly hidden – if what you choose to flood your ears doesn't make you want to fall to your knees with the sheer fundamental beauty of all existence, turn to the girl on your right, pin her to the wall and burn her lips with a kiss the likes of which can only be imagined by 99% of the planet, weep with utter joy as you try and fail to tell your best friend just how integral to your life they are, clench your fist so tight as to make your knuckles feel like they are aching weapons or simply smile calmly, safe in the knowledge that right fucking now, nothing on the planet can touch the explosion going on between your ears, the synaptic sybaritic fireworks that are reflected in the sparklingly fevered light just behind your eyes then maybe it is time you realising something; not only can music do this to you, it will if you only let it, if you allow yourself to become so emotionally naked and vulnerable (oh yes, I evoke the language of romance and love, because what else is music but a love that has managed to manifest itself?) as to let some words that someone you have and probably will never meet has chosen to commit to the public world mean something to you, if you unveil everything about yourself that someone else once fell in love with, everything you publicly hate and secretly love that is utterly, vitally, purely integral to not only the way you live your life but the fibre that has somehow embedded itself into every strand of every molecule that somehow beautifully and poetically ended up as you – if you tear your soul out of your body you will see it has certain colours, and finding out that another human being not necessarily has the same shades as you but takes the graceful step of baring their own blood and colours while wanting to taste yours is nothing but the purest form of beauty that anyone is ever likely to reach.
