Falls – ‘One Hundred Percent Strong’

By Lew Trott

Songs exist that dwarf this entire EP. Clocking in at just 12 minutes, four tracks are all Falls need to convince you of their brilliance.

Describing themselves as “Fuck Rock/Gash Pop/Sasscore”, the North Wales band have a modest discography of just one EP and a handful of singles. With that in mind the release of four more face-melters is reason enough for celebration. It does help that they’re all killer. Seriously, all of them. Debuted on Daniel P Carter’s Radio One Rock Show, ‘Get Well Soon’ sets up the following ten minutes of music in expert fashion. A perfect conglomerate of shrieking vocals and boisterous riffing, in a wee sweatbox venue it is sure to bring the party.

Can you think of another experimental Welsh rock band that sing about Tom Brady? Didn’t think so. The chaos of ‘SWARM’ does, at times, delve into the world of professional football. After all the man is “One of a kind”. Many, many riffs are present, obviously, beautifully accompanied by a hefty bunch of right large drum hits, this track is a standout.

Choruses: undeniable. Shirts: optional.
