It’s interesting this EP has the word ‘farewell‘ in it because that’s one of the bands these guys remind me of. Canada Water are a lesson to many homegrown bands who play the poppy/synth thing – if you don’t get your production right then you can sound really messy and really bad. Thankfully Canada Water nail the sound on this EP. And sure, it’s not the most original sound in the world and this EP isn’t the best you’ll ever hear, but it’s really good fun. There are plenty of melodies, plenty of hooks and everything is in the right place. They do the simple things really, really well and that’s half the battle. The four songs on this record are done well and will leave you with a smile on your face – and if that sounds like your thing, Canada Water could well be the band for you.
